Best Assignment Help Websites for Students, Compared

Assignment help websites come in three kinds: bidding marketplaces, general freelance marketplaces and managed services. This page shows which of six named sites is which, from their own pages on 24 September 2026, what each model leaves for you to check, and what your university's rules allow.

Laptop showing a comparison table of websites with star ratings, beside a navy notebook and a coffee

There are hundreds of assignment help websites and most of them make the same promises. This page compares six of them on the things you can check yourself before you pay: what they sell, where they say they operate, how you start, whether you can read finished work for free, and whether a price is shown. Every cell in the table comes from the site's own pages, opened on 24 September 2026, and where a page did not show something the cell says so.

There is no single best site for everyone. A student with a dissertation chapter and a supervisor's comments needs something different from a student with a 1,000-word essay due at the end of the week. The criteria in the next section are what separate the two.

Which Website Is Best for Assignment Help?

For university work that has to be right first time, our answer is Assignment Helper: you speak to the expert doing the work, the work is delivered before your deadline, revisions are free, and every sample on this site is published in full so you can read the standard before you pay. Judge any other site on the same five checks below. Marketplaces suit short, low-cost tasks.

Three kinds of assignment help website, and what each leaves for you to check

Who writes, and who chooses Bidding marketplace (EduBirdie, Studybay) An independent writer you pick from offers and profiles General freelance marketplace (Upwork, Freelancer.com) A freelancer from a pool built for every trade, chosen from bids or proposals Managed service (Assignment Helper, EssayBox) The site assigns the writer after reading your brief
How the price is set Bidding marketplace (EduBirdie, Studybay) Writers quote on your brief; EduBirdie shows a per-page starting figure, Studybay shows none General freelance marketplace (Upwork, Freelancer.com) Your budget and the bids; Upwork shows typical hourly rates by category Managed service (Assignment Helper, EssayBox) Quoted after the brief is read; neither site publishes a price list
What you can read before paying Bidding marketplace (EduBirdie, Studybay) EduBirdie: an essay examples database; Studybay: not confirmed General freelance marketplace (Upwork, Freelancer.com) Profiles, ratings and past projects, not finished academic work Managed service (Assignment Helper, EssayBox) Full samples on this site; sample PDFs by type on EssayBox
What is left for you to check Bidding marketplace (EduBirdie, Studybay) The writer's credentials and the revision clause, on every order General freelance marketplace (Upwork, Freelancer.com) The brief, the marking criteria and the credentials, from scratch each time Managed service (Assignment Helper, EssayBox) Who was assigned, and whether you can speak to them
Each cell summarises the comparison table further down, taken from the six sites' own pages on 24 September 2026.

The six sites below are of three kinds. Bidding marketplaces built for students (EduBirdie, Studybay) put you in front of writers who quote on your brief, and you pick on price and profile. General freelance marketplaces (Upwork, Freelancer.com) do the same with a pool built for every trade, so nothing about them is organised for academic work. Managed services (Assignment Helper, EssayBox) take the brief themselves and assign the work. The first two kinds give you choice and variable quality. The third gives you one point of responsibility and less control over who writes. Neither is better in the abstract, and the table further down sets out which is which.

What to Check Before You Pay for Assignment Help

Five checks, in the order that matters. Who writes the work and whether you can reach them. What the revision policy says when your marker asks for changes. How the price is decided. What happens to your name and your university's details. And whether the site publishes finished work you can read in full, rather than describing its quality in adjectives.

Who Writes the Work, and Can You Speak to Them

On a marketplace the writer is an independent freelancer and you choose them. On a managed service the site chooses, and whether you can then speak to that person directly varies. Ask before you pay, because a technical assignment usually needs two or three rounds of questions about the brief, and every round that has to travel through a support agent costs you time.

What Happens After Your Marker Comments

This is the clause that separates the cheap from the workable. Feedback from a tutor often arrives after submission, and the useful question is whether changes are included, whether they must be requested within a window, and whether the same person who wrote the work makes them. Read the revision policy as it is written, not as the home page summarises it.

How the Price Is Set

Three patterns exist. Fixed pricing means you see the figure before you commit. Bidding means writers quote and you choose, which is flexible and puts the judgement on you. Quoted pricing means the site reads the brief and comes back with a number. A site that advertises one figure in its page title and a different one on its pricing page is worth a second look.

Confidentiality and Your Data

You will be handing over a brief that may carry your name, your module code and your university. Check what the site says it does with that, whether the work is ever resold or published, and how much you are required to disclose to get a quote. Our own position is on the how we work page: your name and university are never shared, and the work is written for you and not reused.

Work You Can Read Before You Pay

Published samples are the only quality claim a site cannot fake, because you can read the whole thing and judge it. Look for full pieces rather than one-page extracts behind a download form. Ours are on this site and free to read: the Toyota global strategy case study, the Samsung supply chain and inventory management case study and a reflection paper example with the reflective model worked through are a fair test of whether we write the kind of thing your module asks for.

Is Using an Assignment Help Website Allowed?

It depends on how you use it and on your own university's rules. No university bans reading a sample assignment or asking someone to explain a brief. Every university treats submitting work as your own when someone else wrote it as academic misconduct, and the penalties run as far as removal from your course.

The practical steps are the same everywhere. Find your institution's academic integrity or academic misconduct policy, which is normally in the student handbook, and read what it says about third-party help and about collusion. The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education publishes the sector guidance that most UK universities write their policies against, including its academic integrity resources for providers and students. For one university's rules in practice, our University of Hertfordshire assignment guide covers submission through Canvas, referencing, exceptional circumstances and the free academic support on offer.

Then use a sample the way it is meant to be used. Read how the argument is built, which sources it leans on, how the frameworks are applied and how the referencing is set out, then write your own version. That is also why our samples are published in full rather than summarised.

Compiled from each site's own home page, and where noted its about or terms page, opened on 24 September 2026. A cell that reads "Not confirmed" means the page did not show it. Treat it as a question to ask before you pay, not as an answer.

Assignment Helper

If you want to be stress-free and have your work handled by top assignment experts, go with Assignment Helper: high-quality work, written from scratch by a subject expert you can speak to, delivered before your deadline, with a free plagiarism report and free revisions. We are a managed service rather than a marketplace. You send the brief and the deadline on WhatsApp, we tell you what we can do, and the work is written from scratch for you. We have done this since 2021, we answer 24/7, and revisions are free and come with an explanation of what changed, which matters when a tutor's comments arrive after submission. Every sample on this site is published in full, so you can read our standard before you order anything. We help in every subject at university and college level; the services page has nine pages for the subjects students ask about most.

Where it works well:

  • One point of responsibility: you are not selecting between strangers on price.
  • Free revisions, with an explanation of what changed.
  • Direct contact with the expert once the order is placed.
  • Confidentiality: your name and university are not shared.
  • Published sample work you can read in full, across MBA, computer science, dissertation, essay and reflective writing.

Where it falls short: there is no price list and no self-service checkout. Every job is quoted after we read the brief, which takes a message rather than a click.

EduBirdie

EduBirdie is a marketplace that connects students with freelance writers. You place an order, then browse writer profiles and message them before hiring, so the quotes are what you choose between. Its home page lists essays, research papers, dissertations, coursework, case studies, lab reports, presentations and subject homework from maths to nursing, shows a per-page starting price, and links an essay examples database on a separate subdomain. On where it operates the page says two things: the FAQ states that the company is registered in the United States, and the footer names a company at an address in Nicosia, Cyprus, beside a link to a Canadian site. Because the writers are freelancers, the site controls the process rather than the quality, so the profile and the sample you read before hiring are doing a lot of work.

What the model means in practice:

  • The writers are independent freelancers, so the site controls the process and the individual controls the quality.
  • A starting price per page is shown, but the figure for your brief depends on the writer you choose, the deadline and the writer's level, as the page itself says.
  • Subject coverage is broad on its own account, from maths to nursing.
  • Expertise varies between writers, and you are the one assessing it from a profile.
  • The examples database is readable online, so work can be read before an order is placed.

Studybay

Studybay is a bidding marketplace, close to EduBirdie in how it works. You fill in a brief, experts send offers, you compare their ratings and chat with them before you pick one. The type picker on its home page runs from essays, research papers and coursework to dissertations and theses, code and maths problems, so its framing is wider than homework. The footer gives a head office in Limassol, Cyprus and a back office in San Francisco. No price appears on the home page, which says "Affordable Prices" and leaves the figure to the offers. The footer also links a "Study Notes & Documents" collection, described as study documents for inspiration; the page does not say whether that is finished work by its own experts.

What the model means in practice:

  • Bidding: several experts send offers on the same brief and the choice between them is yours.
  • Chat is open before you hire, so questions about the brief can be asked before any money moves.
  • The home page advertises free revisions and payment held until you accept the project; the conditions are in the user agreement, which is where to read them.
  • No single point of responsibility once an expert is chosen; the credentials are the site's own checks plus your reading of the profile.
  • One cell in the table is not confirmed from the page: whether any finished work is readable free.

EssayBox

EssayBox is a managed service: the company takes the brief and assigns the work rather than putting writers in front of you. Its home page lists essays, research papers, dissertations, term papers, coursework, case studies, literature reviews and editing across more than fifty fields, and it publishes downloadable sample PDFs by assignment type, with a samples blog readable on the site. You start with an order form or live chat and an account is created once you order. No price appears on the home page, so the figure arrives later in the process. The page does not say where the company is based; it says only that its operations are conducted according to existing US legislation.

What the model means in practice:

  • The service assigns the work, so responsibility for it sits with the company rather than with a freelancer you picked.
  • Less flexibility than a marketplace: you do not choose the writer or the quote.
  • Editing and rewriting are sold as their own services.
  • Samples are downloadable by assignment type.
  • The price arrives after the order process has started, not before it, and no operating country is stated.

Upwork

Upwork belongs on the list for one reason: it is a general freelancing marketplace, so the writers, editors and subject specialists there are not selling an academic product and are not organised for one. Its home page lists categories from AI services and development through to legal and engineering; writing and translation sits among them, and research paper writers appear as a category with a typical hourly rate beside it. Posting a job is free, you screen proposals, interview or book a consult before hiring, and payment is released from escrow after you approve the work, by milestone or on completion. The page states no operating country; the footer names Upwork Global LLC. In exchange for the wider pool you do the work a managed service would do: searching, reading profiles, negotiating and briefing, every single time.

What the model means in practice:

  • You deal directly with the person who would do the work, and the rate is agreed between you.
  • Nothing on the platform is built for academic work, so the brief and the marking criteria have to be explained from scratch.
  • Profiles show portfolios, ratings and work history, not finished academic work you can read.
  • Payment sits in escrow until you approve the work, so judging whether it meets the brief is your job at each milestone.
  • Finding a fit takes time, and the search starts again with every job.

Freelancer.com

Freelancer.com is the second general marketplace on this list and it is here for the same reason as Upwork: it is not an academic service, but students hire writers on it anyway. Its About page describes it as "the world's largest freelancing and crowdsourcing marketplace by number of users and projects", covering software development, writing, data entry and design through to engineering, the sciences, sales and marketing, accounting and legal services. You post a project free, freelancers bid on it, and you choose between the bids, so the figure depends on who takes the brief and what budget you set. Nothing on the platform is organised around a marking rubric, a referencing style or a submission date. The company's registered office is in Sydney and its terms of use are governed by the law of New South Wales, Australia.

What the model means in practice:

  • Posting a project costs nothing and the bids come to you, so the price is set by whoever wants the work.
  • The pool is general: writing sits beside software, design and accounting, and nobody on it is briefed for academic work.
  • There is no library of finished work to read before you commit; the home page shows example projects with a price and a duration.
  • You do the work a managed service would do, from shortlisting and briefing to checking credentials, on every job.
  • Payments are released against milestones, so judging whether the work is good enough is your job at each stage.

Choosing the Right Site for Your Assignment

Do it in this order. Read your own university's academic misconduct policy first, because it sets what you are allowed to use and nothing on a commercial site overrides it. Run the five checks on any site you are considering, in the order they appear above. Read one complete piece of its published work in your own subject, not an extract, and decide whether it would stand up in your module. Ask about the revision clause before you pay rather than after your marker has commented. Price comes last: a figure quoted on a brief nobody has read is not a price.

How to choose an assignment help website, in order

  1. Read your university's academic misconduct policy It sets what you are allowed to use, and nothing on a commercial site overrides it.
  2. Run the five checks Who writes, what happens after your marker comments, how the price is set, what happens to your data, and what you can read first.
  3. Read one complete piece of the site's published work in your subject An extract behind a download form does not count.
  4. Ask about the revision clause before you pay Not after your marker has commented.
  5. Treat price as the last question A figure quoted on a brief nobody has read is not a price.

If you want to see what our own work looks like first, start with the MBA assignment samples or the study and writing guides, and essay writing help is the service page for essay and coursework briefs.

If you have run the five checks and want the work handled by top assignment experts without the risk of a marketplace, message Assignment Helper on WhatsApp with the brief, the word count and the deadline. We reply with a quote before you pay, and the work arrives before your deadline.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which website is best for assignment help?

There is no single answer, because the sites differ in kind. Bidding marketplaces let you pick a writer on price; general freelance marketplaces give you a wider pool and no academic structure; managed services take the brief and assign the work. Decide which kind fits your assignment, then run the five checks on this page before you pay anyone.

What should I check before paying for assignment help?

Check who writes the work and whether you can talk to that person, what the revision policy actually says, how the price is decided, what happens to your name and your university's details, and whether the site publishes work you can read in full. A site that hides all five is telling you something.

Is using an assignment help website allowed?

Reading a sample or asking someone to explain a brief is allowed everywhere. Submitting work someone else wrote as your own is academic misconduct at every university, with penalties up to removal from the course. Your own student handbook sets the line for your institution, so read its academic integrity policy before you use any site.

How do I know an assignment help website is trustworthy?

Check the things you can verify yourself rather than the claims on the home page: full pieces of work you can read end to end, a contact route that a person answers, a revision policy written in plain words, a clear basis for the price, and a stated position on what happens to your data. Those are the five checks set out on this page, and the answers are easier to get before you pay than after.
